NEdit is a GUI style plain text editor for workstations with X Windows and Motif, developed and maintained at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.
NEdit consists of a single, stand-alone executable file which does not require any special installation. To use NEdit in client/server mode, you should run the nedit client program, nc, instead.

All of the subsystems for this product can be installed using IRIX. You do not need to use the miniroot. Refer to the Software Installation Administrator's Guide for complete installation instructions.
The compiled software is compatible with IRIX 6.2. The supplied source code can be used to compile a version that is compatible with older operating system releases.
